David Paulsson

Matthew Jones

Matthew leads Transverse Ventures and joined the firm in May 2024.
He most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer at Cowbell, a U.S. cyber insurance MGA. In this role, he was responsible for the company’s overall strategy as well as the execution of major strategic and growth initiatives.
Prior to this role, he served as Managing Director at Anthemis, one of the world’s most active investors in early- and growth-stage financial services companies. He had responsibility for investing in companies across insurance and risk management. Matthew started his career at Swiss Re in London, later spending time at the head office in Zurich working on strategy and corporate development.
Matthew is a long-suffering Stoke City supporter.
David Paulsson is CEO of MS Transverse. He co-founded Transverse Insurance Group in 2018 and was its President through the sale to Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group in 2023.
Prior to starting Transverse, David spent 15 years investing in private companies and funds on behalf of banks, asset managers, and family offices. His final role was as Portfolio Manager of Paragon Outcomes, a $1.5 billion multi-family office with a broad portfolio of investments in insurance and other industries.
On behalf of Paragon, he also served on the Advisory Board of numerous asset management platforms, including funds managed by Fortress Investment Group, Atalaya Capital Management, MC Asset Management, and DYAL Capital Partners.
David Zakutansky is Chief Investment Officer at MS Transverse. He contributes over 15 years of experience in principal investing across traditional and alternative asset classes.
Prior to joining MS Transverse, he was a partner at Paragon Outcomes, a private investment firm focused on investments in real assets and financial services strategies.
David began his career in investment banking at BNP Paribas. He is a Certified Public Accountant (State of New York) and a CFA Charterholder

Kevin McCahey

Kevin most recently served as a Principal at Paragon Outcomes, a $1.5bn AUM family office. He started his career at JP Morgan and joined Transverse Ventures in March 2023.
Nick McRae

Nick started his career at UBS as an investment banking analyst in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and joined Transverse Ventures in November 2024.
